Event Purpose

Every event held at Florida State University should support the mission of the university as its primary objective and should be created with the goal of enhancing the university’s image.

It is always important to know your own purpose. You should keep in mind what goals you are trying to accomplish and determine how the event can benefit both your cause and the mission of the university.

The Office of Special Events is available to assist you with planning your event.  We are located in the Office of the Vice President for University Relations and Advancement and play a central role in any event in which the university president is involved.  For that reason, if the president is expected to take part in your event or if you have any questions, please contact our office at 850.644.1000.
