Location


When determining a location, you should consider the size of your group, the type of event, your catering needs and desired table setup.

Some event locations will be dictated by the nature of the event. For example, if you are planning a groundbreaking ceremony, building dedication or naming ceremony, the site is already set.

If you are planning a large conference, make sure the space is big enough not only for the conference participants but also for all other attendees, such as staff or members of the public.

For seated dinners make sure that guests will have enough room to maneuver around the tables comfortably. You should discuss the site and event set up with the caterer as some factors can present challenges and may increase costs.For seated dinners make sure that guests will have enough room to maneuver around the tables comfortably.


Campus Location Considerations


Faculty, staff and students often schedule sites on campus for meetings and other functions. There are several departments managing various spaces on campus, and fees are sometimes charged for the use of particular locations.

The University Center Club is a private club located at the University Center on campus providing meeting and banquet facilities. For more information visit <www.universitycenterclub.com>.

Site Setup


Make sure the location for your event will accommodate all of your needs, including the quantity and arrangement of tables and chairs. "CLICK HERE" for popular room arrangements and additional site setup considerations.

When considering a site for your event, and after you have reserved it, visit the site using this checklist ("CLICK HERE") to help prepare you for a successful event.


Parking Services


Parking on campus is limited but may be required for off-campus visitors. The Office of Parking Services can assist with reservation of spaces and parking attendants. Fees apply. To request parking assistance at special events contact Betty Proctor at least one month prior to your event at 850.644.5278.


Public Safety


Any questions or issues regarding event security, traffic concerns, building/facility access or public safety should be directed to Sgt. Mark Edenfield with FSU Police Special Operations at 850.644.1343 or <medenfield@admin.fsu.edu>. Requests for police or security services should be submitted three weeks prior to the event.


Service Center


All services below can be ordered through the Service Center either by calling 850.644.2424 or by faxing the Facilities Service Request form, (note: this is an Adobe Acrobat form). A departmental ID number (6 digits, provided through OMNI) is required (for filing purposes) for all orders. When placing an order ask for individual contacts then follow-up to make sure all orders have been received. You should provide the contact with your phone number and request they call you when delivering or setting up your order.
