Since 1917, the Westcott Fountain has stood as one of Florida State's most enduring symbols — a gift from the Florida State College for Women classes of 1915 and 1917 that has watched over generations of Seminoles gathering, celebrating and making memories.
Traditions

Ring Ceremony
One of Florida State's most cherished traditions, the Ring Ceremony marks the moment students officially become lifetime members of the Seminole family — sealed with the official FSU class ring.

Westcott Brick
Since 1998, alumni, students and friends of FSU have left their mark on Westcott Plaza with personalized bricks commemorating names, dates and milestones — a lasting piece of Seminole history.

Commencement
Each semester, graduates gather at the Westcott Fountain to celebrate their achievements — a fitting send-off framed by one of campus's most iconic landmarks.

Homecoming
Every fall, the Homecoming parade winds its way toward Westcott Plaza, drawing alumni and students together to celebrate Seminole pride.
